New Orleans Relief: Purchase a Photo and Support a New Orleans Jazz Musician
Anyone who has ever visited New Orleans realizes that it is a place unlike any other. The city's vast history provides a unique cultural mix, and the musicians are as original and authentic as you'll find anywhere in the world. As a young photographer I was overwhelmed by this creative force, and sought to capture on film still images that might communicate this feeling. Ten years later I continue to return to New Orleans, the city that is an integral part of my life and photography career.
On Monday morning August 29, Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, forever changing the city. The people of this vibrant city still need our help. The musicians and artists who call New Orleans home are in a very precarious position. They are the lifeblood of New Orleans and without their energy and spirit the city will cease to be what we all remember it to be. New Orleans has been generous to me over the years, sharing music, food, and culture that has enriched my life and shaped me as a photographer and a person. The photos in this series are my gift to the city that has inspired me in so many ways.
All proceeds from any sales generated through this special offer will go directly to New Orleans musicians. Donations will be made on a weekly basis to the Preservation Hall Fund and The New Orleans Musicians Clinic. Together we can make a difference for all the displaced musicians and their families.
