PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release

Keith Javors Joins ArtistShare For His Latest Recording, “Free"

Philadelphia, PA. (October 31, 2005) - Having recently joined the Philadelphia music community, acclaimed jazz pianist/composer/ educator Keith Javors has recently joined artists Maria Schneider, Jim Hall, Jane Ira Bloom, Billy Childs, and others on the ArtistShare roster (www.artistshare.net) for the creation of his latest recording entitled “Free". The project, which can already be accessed through www.keithjavorsmusic.com, launched in late September and will culminate in the record's July 28, 2006 delivery date.

Quite a departure from his previous work, “Free" features stellar piano performances framed by Jazz, Rap, R&B, and World Music vignettes from the Detroit-based American Music Project and augmented instrumentations, resulting in a powerful and positive urban collage. As Javors' fourth original recording, “Free" is his most personal and visionary statement to date.

“Free" includes several new compositions by Javors and eclectic pop standards from composers ranging from Rodgers and Hart to the Bee Gees to Smokie Norful. Featured extensively on “Free" is the newly- formed Detroit-based American Music Project with Dejuan “D Priest" Everett (rap), Curtis Isom (vocals), Dane Bays (alto saxophone), Keith Javors (piano), Dave Ziegner (bass), and Alex Brooks (drums). Joining him on a few originals with expanded instrumentation are Dave Braun (trumpet/flugelhorn), Luke Brimhall (trombone), Brian Menendez (percussion), and Jason Miller (percussion). Keith states, “Free is about the quest to stay true to one's self and to live whole. Musically, it's an acknowledgement of other musics as well as jazz that speak to me and the never ending pursuit of more visceral and relevant output as an artist."

“Free" is Keith's fourth original recording as a leader, following upon his Mo' City Jungle release on Zoho Records in 2004. Widely respected both as a player and teacher, Javors has recorded and performed with an expansive list of artists including Bunky Green, George Coleman, Conrad Herwig, Joe Lovano, Gerry Mulligan, Chris Potter, Terell Stafford, Bill Watrous, and Steve Wilson. His groups have performed by invitation at some of the most prestigious venues in the world; the Rockefeller Center, the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Vienne Jazz Festival, the International Association for Jazz Education Annual Conference, and the Midwest Clinic: An International Band and Orchestra Conference, in addition to major clubs throughout the United States.

Created by Brian Camelio, ArtistShare is an innovative new business model for creative artists, its projects offering creative ways to provide a deep and lasting “experience" of the process as well as the product itself. Through ArtistShare, musicians are able to develop a strong and loyal fan base through special video and audio updates and many other items of documentation that allow a special window into that creative process.

In the fall of 2005, Keith began working as Artistic Director in the development of a new NPO, the Brendan Romaneck Alliance for American Music, Inc., in Philadelphia, an outreach service organization for the development of American Music and American Music Artists. He is active on the scene there as a player, teacher, and writer.
