Montreal Jazz Fest adds Robert Plant, Diana Krall

The Montreal International Jazz Fest, billed as the world's largest, adds Robert Plant, Diana Krall, Youssou N'Dour, Peter Frampton, the duo of Brad Mehldau and Joshua Redman, and Return to Forever to a lineup that already includes John Legend, Dianne Reeves, Sade and Pink Martini for its 32nd edition June 25-July 4.

The pairing of jazz pianist Mehldau and saxophonist Redman marks a reunion of sorts, since both were part of the latter's group in the mid-'90s. The reconstituted Return to Forever, which reunited and toured in 2008 with its classic lineup of Chick Corea, Stanley Clark, Lenny White and Al Di Meola, replaces Di Meola with Australian guitarist Frank Gambale and adds violinist and fusion fellow pioneer Jean-Luc Ponty.

Also on the bill are Regina Carter, Paco de Lucia, Milton Nascimento, the Newport All-Stars, Madeleine Peyroux, Femi Kuti & The Positive Force Buddy Guy and several others. For complete schedule information go to montrealjazzfest.com.
