Landon Knoblock
Pianist Landon Knoblock and drummer Jason Furman have been making music together for over 10 years. From their first performance together at a North Miami Beach mega church to their subsequent weddings gigs, club dates, and bar mitzvahs, they never played jazz or improvised. That all changed when an off the cuff recording session turned into an inspired exploration of sound and space, texture and rhythm. An exciting and spontaneous musical duo was born. Described as “highly satisfying" by Luca Labrini of JazzConvention.net, Knoblock and Furman demonstrate “a near perfect musical understanding." Brad Walseth of JazzChicago.net writes “the music veer[s] from introspective and sweet to incendiary and at times edgy." Now, Landon Knoblock and Jason Furman present their new album, Gasoline Rainbow, on Fractamodi Music. An inspired set of musical paintings and landscapes that share stories of life and experience, Gasoline Rainbow is rooted in jazz but grows into music more eclectic and less predictable.

What they are saying:

“A music constantly in flux, in which interaction itself becomes the fundamental element . . .relying on a deep exploration of their respective instruments and a near-perfect musical understanding." —Luca Labrini, JazzConvention.net

“Landon Knoblock is an honest musician . . . He performed on the piano with ranging confidence, and everything was fair game—note clusters, sonic bursts, silence, internal plucking . . . a challenging set that pushed his young audience, rather than pandered to them." —John Matouk, About.com
