The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra. One of the finest big bands you will ever hear!

That's what happens when you combine the talents of Grammy winning bassist/composer/conductor John Clayton, his brother, Jeff Clayton, one of the best alto saxophonists in the world, and the hard-driving, technical-mastery of drummer, Jeff Hamilton, with an all-star lineup of Los Angeles-based musicians.

The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra was the house band at the Hollywood Bowl during 1999-2001, giving John Clayton, as Artistic Director of Jazz for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the opportunity to write for such guest artists as Stanley Turrentine, Milt Jackson, Jimmy Smith, Nancy Wilson and Shirley Horn.

Since the band's inception, it has received an enthusiastic response from reviewers and fans. David Badham of Jazz Journal International says: “This is one of the finest modern big band I've heard..."
