Tagging Your Gallery Photos

SOURCE: Published: 2011-09-07

Tags are a crucial part of the All About Jazz gallery. They are the primary means by which people will find your photos, so be sure you tag them properly.

Follow these useful tips when tagging your photos:

It's best to tag all photos with any combination of the following information: musician name, venue name, event name, photographer name, city name. Photos tagged with a city name will appear on the city's Jazz Near You page. e.g. philadelphia.jazznearyou.com

There is no limit to the number of tags you can associate with an image. Just separate them with commas.

A tag is limited to 32 characters. A-Z, 0-9, or spaces. No special characters, no accented characters. Everything is converted to lower-case.

If you are a musician, and upload photos from your musician profile page, AAJ will tag your photos with your name for you.

This is a jazz website, so please don't include tags like “jazz" or “jazz image" or “jazz band." Avoid overly-vague tags.

Do not use a famous person like Miles Davis to tag your photos. That only makes finding Miles Davis photos more difficult for others.

You can tag several images at once from your Manage Photos page.

If you haven't tagged your previously uploaded photos, please tag them now.
