has teamed up with AllAboutJazz.com to create The Business of Jazz—a new self-help and educational column for musicians.

States Jansen, “My goals are simple. I want to help jazz musicians fully monetize their music, promote themselves and therefore strengthen the genre as a whole in the ever changing music industry landscape. It's about spreading education more than anything else... I want to teach people to fish and I've always been a proponent of including music business classes in jazz education. There's no point having all these jazz programs churning out students only to throw them out on the street without any knowledge of the business. They end up having to quit playing."

Jansen further explains his motivations in this We All Make Music interview regarding his new company Pitch Artist Services.
