About Christian Howes and Out of the Blue

Already considered among the world's top jazz violinists, the Columbus, Ohio prodigy was classically trained beginning at age 5. A “rising star" [Downbeat], Christian has played with Randy Brecker, Lenny White, Jack Dejohnette, James Carter, David Murray and in saxophonist Bill Evans's Soulgrass group. The legendary Les Paul has said “there's nobody better than this guy". Howes is a Yamaha artist/clinician and was recently named an Associate Professor at the Berklee College of Music. His Resonance debut, Heartfelt, featured beautiful arrangements by Roger Kellaway and orchestral voicings by Kuno Schmid.

For Out of the Blue, blues master guitarist Robben Ford meets virtuoso jazz violinist at the crossroads! Out of the Blue is the follow-up to the Resonance recording, Heartfelt. Out of the Blue also features acclaimed pianist Tamir Hendelman and drummer Joel Rosenblatt.

“Classically-trained jazz violinist Howes sketches the outlines while guitarist Ford and one-time Ray Charles organist Bobby Floyd provide the pigments for this deft survey of the blues landscape." - Jerry Shriver, USA Today
