Perry has been playing professionally along the East Coast for over 30 years. His formal studies were at Miami University of Ohio and Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied with Joe Viola, John LaPorta and Charlie Mariano.

Moving to the Washington, DC area in 1976, Perry became an established figure in the “new" music scene. During this time, he had the opportunity to perform with and learn from Don Cherry, Anthony Braxton, Sam Rivers and many others.

Conticchio has built his 35-year career using the singular jazz sounds of the 1960's as a point of departure. His latest release, “Speak Your Truth", features the newly re-formed and energized Perry Conticchio Quartet with guest artists performing on several tracks. “Speak Your Truth” highlights, predominately original compositions by Conticchio.

Conitcchio’s CD release party on May 25, 2005 at Blues Alley was the event of the season, playing to a sold out room, Conticchio and his quartet were in rare form, reaching musical heights that left the audience in awe.
