Multi-talented musician Matt Catingub wears many hats: Saxophonist, Woodwind Artist, Conductor, Pianist, Vocalist, Performer, Composer, and Arranger. In 1979, Matt was asked to join the Louie Bellson Big Band and at 17, Matt was the youngest member of the band. Matt is big in the jazz scene and in Hollywood, where he has directed, produced and performed with the likes of Rosemary Clooney, Jack Jones, Toni Tennille, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Louis Bellson and many others. He currently directs the Honolulu Symphony Pops and “The Big Kahuna and the Copa Cat Club,” fronting the 12-piece band singing and playing, combining elements of Big Band and Hawaiian “Hapa-Haole" music into a truly unique package. In November 2001, the late Rosemary Clooney performed the last concert of her incredible career with the Honolulu Symphony Pops. The concert was released on CD and was also nominated for a Grammy. Matt will have a role in George Clooney's upcoming movie “Goodnight and Good Luck.”

Matt will also be performing with the Greece Jazz Band at the 2005 Rochester International Jazz Festival on Friday, June 17th, 2005. You can find out more about Matt by going to www.mattcatingub.com.
