MCG Jazz's 24th season celebrates the progression of jazz with over 20 headliners spanning four generations! Beginning in September 2010 and running through May 2011, the concert season is seeded with masters such as Hubert Laws and Monty Alexander as well as emerging artists Vijay Iyer and Julian Lage.

Marty Ashby, Executive Producer for MCG Jazz states, “We are so excited to be able to share this line up of well known artists while continuing to expose new talent to the Pittsburgh region. MCG is known as a center for cultivating both jazz artists and jazz audiences."

Jazz Progressions highlights stars Larry Carlton, Jeff Lorber, The Rippingtons and Brubeck Brothers Quartet. Vocalists Roberta Gambarini, Manhattan Transfer and Jane Monheit heat up the winter months and take us into spring at MCG Jazz.

Special presentations include Liz Callaway and Ann Hampton Callaway singing the soundtrack of the 60's and 70's with their Pittsburgh premiere of BOOM!; A Charlie Brown Christmas with the David Benoit Quartet; and Jazz & Baseball, highlighting the historical connections between music and sport with special guests to be announced.

MCG Jazz is very excited to have two concerts designated BNY Mellon Jazz Presents: Nancy Wilson on October 15-16, 2010 and Hiromi on March 5-6, 2011. These women perfectly demonstrate the progressive nature of jazz over the generations. The legendary award-winning artist Nancy Wilson, a jazz master for over 50 years, returns to Pittsburgh. Hiromi, a fairly new arrival on the jazz scene (her debut album, Another Mind, went gold in Japan in 2003) will electrify the MCG Jazz stage.

Patrons have the opportunity to choose from a pre-packaged concert series, or create their own package from the available artists. Subscriptions for the MCG Jazz 2010--2011 season begin at $162.00 and are on sale now. Please call the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild Jazz Box Office at 412-322-0800 for more information or visit www.mcgjazz.org.

Long-time local sponsors UPMC Health Plan, BNY Mellon, Baierl Subaru, NOVA Chemicals, and ARAD support the 24th season of MCG Jazz.
