Bassist Michael Janisch to Record Live Album with Lee Konitz at Pizza Express Jazz Club, London on May 19 and 20.

Michael Janisch who is a composer, bandleader, and curator of a monthly creative jazz residency at London's Pizza Express Jazz Club will be performing with the Legendary Lee Konitz along with Dan Tepfer (Piano) and Jeff Williams (Drums) on May 19 and 20, 2010 in a two house per night showing. These series of concerts will all be recorded live for release on Janisch's newly minted Whirlwind Recordings Ltd. record label, which released his critically claimed debut album earlier in January, “Purpose Built." For Konitz, this will be the first live recording as a leader in London, and will add to his impressive discography which has spanned over six decades.
