Bebop, swing and New Orleans jazz will inspire chefs and menus alike for one hoppin' evening at the first ever A Taste of Jazz event. Celebrate the cuisine of some of the country's greatest jazz cities in this culinary tribute to the launch of Jazz Day, part of Jazz Appreciation Month in April. This fusion of culinary creativity and America's art form will also feature a septet of unforgettable music and discussion led by saxophonist Walter Blanding of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Executive Director Adrian Ellis says “We're proud to celebrate Jazz Day April 9th with our partners in our home at Time Warner Center, and we're looking forward to a swinging set from Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra member, the great Walter Blanding. Jazz plays an important role in the heritage and life of this country and has had a significant impact worldwide, bringing joy to people of all ages."

April 9th , 2010 marks the inauguration of Jazz Day, established last year by the U.S. Conference of Mayors as a specific day during Jazz Appreciation Month to build awareness and celebrate the rich heritage of jazz as an historic and living American art form. In 2001, The Smithsonian launched Jazz Appreciation Month. It has since grown to include celebrations in all 50 states and 40 countries which promote the joys, power, and glories of this living treasure. Time Warner Center's premiere culinary club, Circle of Taste, provides exclusive access, behind the scenes events and one-on-one experiences with New York City's leading chefs from the Center's Restaurant and Bar Collection.
