V. Selvaganesh represents the new breed of percussionist emerging from India: Young, cosmopolitan and adventurous. Among those he has accompanied are Smt M.S. Subbalakshmi, Smt M. Vasanthakumari, and Trichur Sri Ramachandran.. In 1993, Selvaganesh traveled across Europe together with tabla maestros Ustad Zakir Hussain, Ustad Alla Rakha and Sri T.H. Vinayakram. His spirit of adventure has also led to forays into the world of jazz where he has played in the jazz ensemble conducted by Sri Ganesh and Sri Kumeresh.
