Legendary saxophonist Giuseppi Logan will play two concerts with his group to celebrate the release of his first album in 45 years, The Giuseppi Logan Quintet. The album features two of his closest collaborators from the '60s; Dave Burrell and Warren Smith.
He will perform in New York City at Bowery Poetry Club, Tuesday March 16th at 11pm.
Giuseppi also returns to his birthplace, Philadelphia, on April 1 to perform for the first time in decades, at the Ars Nova Workshop.
The Giuseppi Logan Quintet, just out on NYC's Tompkins Square label, has received early rave reviews from All Music Guide (4 stars), jazzreview.com, a special mention on NPR's jazz blog, among others.
