The Nu Band, based in the New York City area, tours France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria from January 13 to January 29, 2005.

Members of The Nu Band are Mark Whitecage on saxes and clarinet; Roy Campbell Jr. on trumpet and flugelhorn; Joe Fonda on bass; and Lou Grassi on drums.

The Nu Band is a sparkling, dynamic group of pros -- all of whom lead a number of groups, play and record with a variety of world-class musicians, and compose.

Their upcoming European tour is a record release celebration, with the group debuting their 2nd CD, The Nu Band on Tour - Spring 2003 on the German Konnex label. The group's debut CD, The Nu Band / Live at The Bop Shop / Rochester, NY on Portugal's Clean Feed label, was released in 2001.

“The quality of the performers keeps the listener's interest at a high level . . . this is a band that is potentially among the best in its field." -- Steven Loewy, All Music Guide to Jazz
