New York, NY - Critically acclaimed jazz vocalist, Michelle Walker, will perform in double bill concerts with jazz vocalist Sachal Vasandani while on tour with The Yakov Okun Trio in Russia from November 22-29th.
Michelle has spent the past few years amassing an impressive musical resume of concert and festival performances, including The Lincoln Center-Women in Jazz Festival and international tours as a leader and guest vocalist.
Michelle is often compared to Cassandra Wilson, Nina Simone and Betty Carter in style and tone. She has opened in concert for Wynton Marsalis, Rene Marie, Terrell Stafford, Chris Botti, George Benson and Mark Murphy. Her arrangements of straight-ahead standards and contemporary pop tunes blend genres effortlessly and with an undeniable level of originality that is solidifying her own distinctive sound. Dave Nathan at All About Jazz says, Walker sings with “...an extraordinary degree of musicality."
