SOUL JAZZ SAXOPHONIST JACKIEM JOYNER CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF HIS CHART TOPPING SOPHOMORE CD - LIL' MAN SOUL

Joyner Tops the Smooth Jazz Charts For An Astonishing 12 Weeks

For more than three months, Soul/Jazz saxophonist Jackiem Joyner dominated the R&R/Billboard Smooth Jazz charts with his #1 single “I'm Waiting for You" from his sophomore album 'Lil' Man Soul.' This hit single also received the 'Most Increased Plays' and remains the fastest growing single of the year. This recent release successfully documents Jackiem's journey from sideman to his rightful place at center stage. With such an amazing feat under his belt, Jackiem is rightfully celebrating the success of his latest CD. Jackiem Joyner will be in New York on Monday, November 16th to discuss his astonishing ride to the forefront.

Climbing the charts with a bullet is nothing new to Jackiem. His first CD Babysoul entered the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart at #15 and its hit single “Stay With Me Tonight," featuring guitarist Peter White stayed on the R&R Smooth Jazz Chart for a staggering 25 weeks. Following these early successes, Jackiem was chosen as the Debut Artist of the Year by industry tastemaker Smooth Jazz News. On Lil' Man Soul, Jackiem not only shows his versatility as an artist, but as a composer and producer. His current CD is a 12-track collection of hip, up-tempo grooving tracks and seductive ballads that musically reflect the dynamic nuances of Joyner's whirlwind life over the past few years.

Like all emerging artists, Jackiem has walked a tightrope balancing his newfound career at center stage with his high demand as a top call sideman for genre superstars like Peter White,Wayman Tisdale, Joe Sample and Gerald Albright to name a few. Lil' Man Soul solidifies his place as a solo artist as he covers a range of material both artistically and emotionally.

With his own band, Jackiem has headlined several high profile events including the Lexus Hyatt Regency Jazz Festival in Newport Beach, the Atlanta Smooth Jazz Festival, as well as the Denver Jazz and Blues Festival, which coincided with the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Joyner is currently touring in support of his own project. Taking his music to the next level, Jackiem is creating a unique sound that the urban jazz scene has been greatly missing.
