Ed Johnson Tours in Support of Forthcoming Release Movimento

SOURCE: Published: 2004-06-04
Cumulus Records artist Ed Johnson is playing a select number of West Coast dates in support of his forthcoming release Movimento, which hits stores in July.

Movimento is the third full length release from Johnson; an accomplished jazz guitarist, singer/songwriter, arranger and producer. The music on Movimento is vibrant, original contemporary jazz with a Latin feel and a refreshing emphasis on harmony vocals and horn arrangements. Evocative of Brazilian pop, but unlike anything youve heard before.

Johnson will be touring with his band NOVO TEMPO, also showcased on Movimento. The band features brass man John Worley, woodwind player Kristin Strom, and guitar/mandolin wizard Scott Sorkin. Singer/pianist Jennifer Scott teams up with Johnson for distinctive, vocalese duets evocative of Tania Maria. The rhythm sections features Northwest bass star Rene Worst, drummer Mark Ivester, and percussionist Jeff Busch.
