Brownstone Entertainment Complex, LLC; bringing Jazz back uptown to what was once the spawning ground of the be-bop era, and its traditions.

For the final performance in our Series; “The Jazz Legacy Series" at this location, on the weekend of Friday April 17th & Saturday April 18th we present a talented young lad, who at the age of 76 has set a major precedent in the field of jazz, as one of most recorded studio drummers ever. With such record dates under his belt as Quincy Jones “Walking in Space”, he also spent six years as the staff drummer on Johnny Carson’s “The Tonight Show”. As if that was not enough, he was also the drummer with Peggy Lee. It was while he was working with Peggy Lee that a whole new career opened up for him; they were invited to a party and while at that party someone suggested that everyone perform something other than their normal avocations. The guests were baffled by him when he got up, and recited a Shakespearean soliloquy. It was then, that Peggy would make him stop playing the drums and come up to the mike and sing. This was the beginning a new career for him that launched on to the scene a new baritone voice, the likes of which had not been heard since Billy Eckstine, Arthur Prysock, Joe Williams and Johnny Hartman. Creole is pleased to present a one-of-a-kind vocal stylist... the one, the only, Mr. Grady Tate.
