La Plume - The Keystone College Concerts and Lectures Series, in association with the Pennsylvania Jazz Alliance, will feature a lineup of nationally recognized musicians during an evening of "Jazz and Java" Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m. in Evans Hall, Hibbard Campus Center. 

The performance will feature an eclectic group of jazz talent including Dave Samuels on vibes, Ron Oswanski on the organ, and Marko Marcinko on drums. The evening will also feature a variety of culinary treats including miniature pastries and a hot beverage bar. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Multi-Grammy award winning musician Dave Samuels has established himself as one of the most talented mallet players of his generation. He is recognized for his fresh new sound and creative approach to the vibraphone and marimba. Mr. Samuels has demonstrated his versatility and gained worldwide recognition by performing and recording with a broad scope of artists including Bruce Hornsby, Frank Zappa, Spyro Gyra, Gerry Mulligan, and The Caribbean Jazz Alliance.   

Ron Oswanski is well-know for moving musicians and audiences alike with his sensitivity and musical creativity. He has performed with some of the most renowned musicians in jazz and contemporary music including: Maynard Ferguson, Tim Ries, Aretha Franklyn, Tom Garling, Jack Wilkins & Mike Clark, Sheryl Bailey, John Hart, Maria Schneider Orchestra and Milt Hinton. In addition to his active performing career, Mr. Oswanski's talent as a composer has also received praise. His accomplishments have  been noted in Time Magazine and Jazz Times and Wind Player.             

Marko Marcinko, founder of the Pennsylvania Jazz Alliance, has been a driving force in advancing Northeastern Pennsylvania's jazz culture. His work and love of music has contributed to the success of the Scranton Jazz Festival. A University of Miami graduate, Marko has performed with jazz greats Joe Henderson, Michael Brecker, Red Rodney, and Paquito D'Rivera. Mr. Marcinko is currently an adjunct professor of music studies at Penn State University.
