Jim Ridl, a critically acclaimed jazz pianist, was raised on a farm in North Dakota. He attended college at the University of Colorado at Denver, and performed with the Grammy-nominated vocal jazz group, Rare Silk. Jim, now a resident of Hamilton, New Jersey, has performed and recorded internationally with a wide variety of artists, including jazz guitar legend Pat Martino, Dave Liebman, and baritone saxophonist, Denis DiBlasio.

Jim currently leads his own trio, which recently released a new CD, Jim Ridls Door in a Field, a reflection of the American Plains and subsequent urban life experiences. The Jim Ridl Trio includes: Bassist Darryl Hall - winner of the prestigious Thelonius Monk Competition, has toured with Regina Carter, Ravi Coltrane and Antonio Hart. He lists other performances with Hank Jones, Vanessa Rubin, Joanne Brackeen, Lionel Hampton and the Woody Herman Big Band. Darryl is a first-call bassist on the NYC jazz scene.

Mark Walker, drums member of the Grammy-award winning Paquito DRivera Quintet (Best Latin Jazz Album 2001) since 1989, and currently touring with the Grammy-nominated group Oregon. Mark is on the faculty of Drummers Collective in New York City and is an associate professor of percussion at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Mark has toured extensively and recorded with Lyle Mays, Michel Camilo, the Caribbean Jazz Project, Dave Samuels, Andy Narell, Linda Eder and many others The JIM RIDL TRIO performs at the Mill Hill Playhouse on March 6th 7:30 to 10:00 P.M.
