The New York Historical Museum will be hosting this amazing event and concert. We will start the event off with light appetizers provided by famed restaurant Phillip Marie and other tasty creations by world famous chef Vikas Khanna. Champagne, wine and mimosas will be served.
The reception will be held in the Great Hall" and the concert in the adjoining Red Velvet" Theater.
11:30AM - 1:00PM: Opening reception. Guest will mingle and enjoy appetizers and beverages while viewing our silent auction items as well as our silent auction art by more than a dozen New York artists. Special Readings will be available for free by Trickydame" with her Love Magic and Passion cards. There will also be a live performance piece of art evolving through out the event by artist, EDIE"
1:00PM 2:00PM: Concert in Red Velvet Theater. Sit back and enjoy the amazing jazz vocals and piano by famed Rick DellaRatta, backed up by Rick's amazing selection of world class jazz musicians. We will also announce our Jazz for Piece honorees during the concert session. John P. Greco, Vikas Khanna and some surprise honorees.
2:00PM 2:30PM: A final beverage and final bidding on our silent auction recipients.
In March 2007, jazz pianist, vocalist and composer Rick DellaRatta was included by The Foundation Center in their list of musician philanthropists along with Bono (U2), Elton John, Peter Gabriel and Sting.
In April 2007, Rick was given the Jazz Appreciation Award by the American Federation of Musicians (Local 85-133) for outstanding achievement as an international jazz performer, composer and philanthropist giving back to the community through jazz, jazz education, charitable contributions and Jazz for Peace performances.
In September 2007, Jazz for Peace founder Rick DellaRatta celebrated the 5th Anniversary of his historic concert at the United Nations which united Israelis, Palestinians and Americans as well as the 500 benefit concert Helping those who are helping others!" since this landmark event.
In November 2007, Rick DellaRatta was appointed Ambassador for Peace" by the World Peace Federation at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom. He was also included in a new book called The Jazz Singers as one of the top 500 Jazz Vocalists of All Time.
