Andy Fleet
Andy had his life turned upside down when his son died shortly after birth. He explains: My life falls into two distinct parts before James, and after James. Life was straightforward easy even - until I hit a brick wall at huge speed when we lost our baby boy a few years back. It was living hell but an amazing thing happened - I suddenly started writing my best material ever - more honest. I dedicate this album to James.

Assessing his priorities, Andy quit his day job and funded this debut album by selling his motorcycles and teaching local kids to play piano. The resulting collection of songs feature many fine musicians and vocalists. They celebrate old friends (Get The Boys Round), recount nights playing cocktail lounge piano (The Piano Bum), tell tales of nocturnal infatuation (Genya) and light a candle to every minute his son lived (Fifty Four Candles). The title track, The Night Falls Fast, is an instrumental piece featuring New Yorker Andre Canniere on trumpet and is the sound of darkness arriving too soon that desperate, vulnerable mental state which people can be reduced to.

Pulling his influences from the piano men: Tom Waits, Randy Newman, Donald Fagen and Allen Toussaint, Andys edgy jazz and blues flavoured popular music suits his warm conversational voice and bittersweet subject matter. He has been gigging in and around London at venues such as the Soho Revue Bar, Cobden Club, Slaughtered Lamb, Vortex and the Stables in Milton Keynes.
