Adam Rogers has forged a reputation as one of the best finest guitarists in the world by way of his starring role with many of the greatest in jazz, pop and world music: Walter Becker (of Steely Dan); Brian Blade; Terence Blanchard; Michael and Randy Brecker; Regina Carter; Ravi Coltrane; Larry Coryell; Elvis Costello; Alana Davis; Gil Evans Orchestra; Giora Feidman; Groove Collective; Norah Jones; David Krakauer; The Mingus Orchestra; John Pattitucci; Simon Shaheen; Jacky Terrasson; Cassandra Wilson; and John Zorn among others.

With the release of his debut CD, Art of the Invisible, on Criss Cross Records in 2001, Rogers emerged as a formidable leader in his own right and revealed his staggering ability as a player, an improvisor and a composer.

Now Rogers returns with Allegory, his follow up on Criss Cross that features ten new compositions and the addition of saxophonist Chris Potter to the original quartet: Ed Simon on piano, Scott Colley on bass and Clarence Penn on drums.

Allegory reveals that Rogers is more concerned with bringing out the interior emotions and stories of music than technical mastery, which is how he arrived at the title. For Rogers, the excitement and joy he feels from music has dictated the path of his life. I
