BET Jazz: The 24-Hour Jazz Channel Presents New Fall 2003 Programming Schedule

Premiering New Episodes of Journey With Jazz At Lincoln Center, Issues And Answers, Grammy Goes To Schools, Classic Concerts, Blues Biographies/Chicago Blues and Not Just Jazz

BET Jazz: The 24-Hour Jazz Channel recently announced a new fall season of original programming that kicked off on September 25 with the debut of season two of Journey With Jazz At Lincoln Center. Beginning in October, the exciting programming continues with the following new series, Issues And Answers, Grammy Goes To Schools, as well as new episodes of Classic Concerts, Blues Biographies/Chicago Blues and Not Just Jazz.

Journey With Jazz At Lincoln Center: The 13 brand new episodes of this hour-long weekly series will highlight live performances by the world-renowned Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra (LCJO) with Wynton Marsalis, as well as other jazz artists in concerts produced by Jazz At Lincoln Center. Filmed in New York City and at various national and international venues, the episodes will also include interviews with the featured artists.

Shows planned for this season include tour performances by the LCJO with Wynton Marsalis in cities such as Honolulu, Hawaii and London, to name a few. Episodes will feature legendary jazz drummer Louis Hayes on the history of jazz drumming; Ghanian drum master Yacub Addy on the sacred connection of the drums to music; trombonist Wycliffe Gordon; and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington. Airing on Thursdays at 1PM, 9PM & 12AM ET / 10AM, 6PM, & 9PM PT, with rebroadcasts on Sundays at 10AM, 9PM & 5AM ET / 7AM, 6PM, & 2AM PT.

Issues And Answers: BET Digital Networks presents this new six-part, half-hour series that will deal with the issues and answers that are presented at some of the top African American organizations
