Raj Rathor is the fastest, most melodically gifted guitarist in Las Vegas. There, we said it. You’ll be saying it, too, once you’ve seen and heard Rathor tear up a fretboard with wizard-like dexterity, whether by himself or with one of a few local combos, including the Pickadillos, a prog-metal-bluegrass pickers who always include a few hair-metal covers in their sets. Rathor has a long-running project — the Raj Rathor Trio — featuring the lovely torch singer Diana Smith and accomplished jazz drummer Bob Ego. Look for them every Monday night at Origin India with two shows at 6 and 8 p.m. For those who haven’t discovered Origin India, it’s an absolute gem of a restaurant right across from the Hard Rock Hotel.
