Roberto Magris PCAMI* is proud to present, in conjunction with the Italian Institute of Culture-Los Angeles, a new CD Showcase of Kansas City Outbound with a Legends of Jazz Tribute and performance with international jazz icon, ROBERTO MAGRIS Sunday, December 7, 2008 starting at 8pm at the Jazz Bakery in Culver City, CA

This historical and classic evening will feature one of the most sought after musical stylist, who has for over 50 years blended soul, R&B, pop, and jazz into a distinctive style all his own, IDRIS MUHAMMAD. Idris has topped the charts with legends such as; Fats Domino, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Curtis Mayfield, Roberta Flack, Freddie Hubbard, Bob James, Grover Washington, Jr., and the last 8 years with NEA Jazz Master Ahmad Jamal. Idris has also turned this mutha out with a few of his own hit recordings.

In addition to this legendary musical stylist, joining Roberto Magris, is prolific composer, bandleader and music educator PAUL CARR from Washington, DC on Texas tenor sax, multi talented composer, bandleader and musician, MICHAEL ONEILL from San Diego, on alto, soprano and tenor sax and last but not least, represents the next outstanding generation of up and coming bandleader, musician and jazz artist, ELISA PRUETT from Charlotte, NC, on acoustic bass.



This is one of the finest international jazz units assembled. We have some great new jazz music in store for all who will be there and then; plan to stick around to personally meet these outstanding musicians after the show.
