Fight the Big Bull will return to Cous Cous this Wednesday to bring its summer hiatus to an end. The group's first album, Dying Will Be Easy, will be released September 9 on Clean Feed, so their gigs every other Wednesday this fall are sure to be sparked with excitement from the album's release.

Clean Feed has become known for its quickly growing catologue of creative recording musicians, including Anthony Braxton, Jason Stein, and Gerry Hemingway. Label co-founder Pedro Costa has described Clean Feed's mission as “to release organic improvised music that should also be called Jazz. At least I think this is the spirit of Jazz: freedom, openness, improvisation." [like rain whispers mist]

Upon their return this Wednesday, FTBB will be trading Wednesdays (that is, EVERY Wednesday) with Ombak, whose dark and cavernous explorations this summer kept the Bull's bi-weekly spot running. Ombak's Bryan Hooten used the summer stint to write heaps of new material for the group and the band will be going into the studio in September to release their first album.
