OK|OK Wins Reel 13 Short Film Competition on Thirteen/WNET
ok|ok, the New York-based avant/experimental/pop group consisting of Kyoko Kitamura on voice, Michael McGinnis on clarinet/bass clarinet, Khabu Doug Young on guitar, and Tony Moreno on drums, along with collaborator and the Japanese animator duo PECKS, has just won the Reel 13 Short competition for this week for their animated music video “Hunt" hosted by THIRTEEN/WNET. “Hunt" will be aired this Saturday evening on THIRTEEN/WNET during the Reel 13 slot tonight SATURDAY AUGUST 23rd 2008 at 11:11pm and then again at 03:02 AM on Sunday.
ok|ok's first ever album will be released in September from RKM Music and a CD release party will be held on September 18th at Roulette in NYC, with a showing of a slightly different version of “Hunt." Joining us will be another one of ok|ok's collaborators, an outstanding video artist/improviser Benton-C. Bainbridge (also known for his work with the Beastie Boys).
