Christina Watson and Oscar Utterstrom Quintet
After just returning from their European CD release tour, jazz vocalist Christina Watson and Swedish trombonist Oscar Utterstrm will have a joint CD release party at the Nashville Jazz Workshop on Sunday, May 18, 2008.

Chistina will have Pat Coil on piano, Craig Nelson on bass, and Bob Mater on drums, the the same lineup as on her new recording A Flower Truly Blue, which was recorded on Music Row in Nashville. About half of the material is original music co-written by Christina and her producer Green Daniel. Other tracks include fresh interpretations of songs like “We Can Work It Out" (Beatles) and “A Thousand Kisses Deep" (Leonard Cohen). All arrangements were done by Pat Coil. A Flower Truly Blue is Christina's second CD, following her debut release All About Love from 2004.

Home is the name of Oscar's debut CD, which contains nine original songs written by Oscar. The bonus track is Wicked Game, written by Chris Isaak, and it features Christina on vocals. On several tracks, Oscar plays electric trombone, and, in addition to the appearance of DJ Black Cat Sylvesta, this unique approach to trombone gives the listener a new sound that creates unexpected and interesting soundscapes. For the release performance, bassist Russell Wright, drummer Justin Amaral, and guitarist Adam Agati will join forces with Oscar and Black Cat.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. CDs will be on sale for $15.
