The Blue To The Bone band features the blues side of Dave's playing with a 4 piece horn section riffing behind him. Although still coming from a jazz perspective, it allows Dave to indulge his love of B.B. and Albert King with some different New Orleans and funk rhythms going on underneath. This band is one of Dave's fans' favorites and Blue to the Bone III (SteepleChase Music) was picked by Gary Walker at WBGO and by Jazzreview as one of the top CD's of 2002. Guitarist Dave Stryker established himself as part of New York's music scene in the 1980s before going on tour with organist Jack McDuff's group. He then went on to spend 10 years with Stanley Turrentine and has 20 CD's out as a leader.

“One of the most distinctive of the seemingly countless guitarists to come along in recent years, Stryker's a blues player who can also play out, with a percussive attack and a knack for the unexpected phrase ending." -- Gary Giddins, The Village Voice
