Jay Patten Releases New Album "Night Blue"

Saxophonist, composer and vocalist Jay Patten brings a lifetime of musical experiences to his latest album, Night Blue. He has played on hundreds of recordings for such diverse artists as Johnny Cash, Lobo, Pure Prairie League, David Loggins, Nanci Griffith and many more. Jay, along with his Jay Patten Band, is a mainstay on the Nashville night scene and the concert stage, opening for Maynard Ferguson, Taj Mahal, Stanley Jorden, Ray Charles and others. In 1982, he gained the distinction of becoming the first artist to step foot on the stage of the now world famous Bluebird Cafe. Ever since, Jay and his band have hosted the club's annual anniversary and Christmas shows, where they've performed with Rita Coolidge, John Prine, Janis Ian, Lee Greenwood and Michael Johnson.

A recipient of the NARAS “Super Pickers Award" for studio excellence, Jay Patten has released four well received albums including his CBS album Black Hat and Saxophone, which made the national charts and had a music video that was featured on VH-1. Other projects include Impressions of Christmas and his big band project, All In Blue Time, featuring his friend Buddy DeFranco.
