Jazz Pianist and Composer Louis Durra to Perform the Vault VIP Lounge July 6

The Vault VIP, Orange County's newest spot for Friday night live jazz, is pleased to welcome the Louis Durra Trio on July 6 starting at 8 PM.

Louis Durra is a jazz pianist and composer based in Southern California. Louis performs the standards and original music in jazz trio format. The trio has recently released a DVD entitled “Caught! The Louis Durra Trio Live and in the Studio".

Durra has performed with many of today's top jazz artists including, The Jazz Tap Ensemble, Savion Glover, Ruben Blades, Barbara Morrison, Bill Holman, Camper Van Beethoven and Lilli Hayden. Durra also toured Russia in 2003 with Just In Time, a jazz dance revue.

As music director and arranger for “Play It Cool", Durra was nominated for an Ovation Award and a Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Award for Best Musical Director. He won a Drama-Logue award for his score of “The Lesson" at the Mark Taper Forum.

Louis attended the Berklee College Of Music in Boston, MA. He has studied jazz piano with Jeff Covell and Bob Winter, classical piano with Stephanie Plsek, and arranging and composition with Herb Pomeroy, Greg Hopkins and Ken Pullig. During college, he played jazz in the Boston area and toured with various pop and R&B bands.

Once a basement vault for a large bank, The Vault VIP has been transformed into a plush lounge with hightop tables, leather sofas, intricate art pieces and romantic lighting. Signature cocktails, fine wines and international beers and light appetizers and desserts, including a Chef's selection of Artisan Cheese, are available for purchase. Entrance to The Vault VIP includes a $10 cover charge or is free with dinner purchase upstairs at the 5-star Ambrosia Restaurant. Dinner guests receive two shows for the price of a meal with the award winning Chris Williams Trio serenading guests nightly in the Ambrosia Restaurant from 5pm to 10pm.

The next upcoming performance at The Vault VIP Lounge is Luther Hughes and The Cannonball-Coltrane Project on Friday, July 20th.
