Cyber Jazz recording artists Gemini Soul w/ Ajamu Akinyele opens for Latin/Jazz percussionist Pete Escovedo Saturday - June 16th @ The San Jose Juneteenth Festival.

Cyber Jazz recording artists Andre Ajamu Akinyele (Ah-jah-moo + Ah-kin-yay-lay) on bass & programming; Jon O'Bergh on keyboards, piano & programming; Andrew Foster on percussion; and Alex Marks on drums will be performing their eclectic blend of smooth jazz - funk fusion with an electronic element as Gemini Soul at the 2007 San Jose Juneteenth Festival; San Jose Cesar Chavez Plaza; 50 W. San Fernando Street; San Jose, CA @ 1 PM.

Gemini Soul will take the stage at 1:30 PM performing their engaging and energizing Cyber Jazz. Pete Escovedo will take the stage at 2 PM performing his Latin/Jazz.

Gemini Soul's new release “Liquid Soul" features new original music, plus favorite standards such as Peggy Lee's “Fever," Stanley Clarke's “Yesterday Princess," Sade's “Kiss of Life" and “Hang On To Your Love," and Dave Brubeck's “Take Five."

Experience Gemini Soul's new CD “Liquid Soul" live at the San Jose Juneteenth Festival and help support independent jazz. Gemini Soul's concerts aren't your typical jazz shows. Ajamu's bass playing is in the style of Stanley Clarke, Jimi Hendrix, and Me'Shell Ndegeocello...a sight to be seen. Jon O'Bergh's keyboard stylings captures the elements of 70's funk, reminiscent of Herbie Hancock. Andrew Foster's percussion adds a satin groove, keeping the music smooth and sexy. While Alex Marks, the newest member in the band, drum stylings will add that touch of funk to enhance Gemini Soul's Cyber Jazz experience.

Ajamu Akinyele states “My overall goal is to introduce my music to all generations, and to all ethnic backgrounds in support of jazz of all genres; while trying to unite us as a people of one nation under a groove through cyber jazz."
