“... a world class recording featuring the superb singer fronting a first rate big band, made up of members of the Basie organization..." --Russ Musto

Jamie Davis's rich baritone voice has been paired with the musical magic of some of the world's most famous talent. Davis counts Patty Austin, Tony Bennett, George Benson, the Count Basie Orchestra, Rosemary Clooney, Jimmy Cobbs, and Billy Cobham among the super stars he has performed with.

At the beginning of his career, Davis sang with an elite group in the Army's Special Services in the 1960s, who toured military bases performing. He studied in New York City under the renowned Harlem vocal coach, Edward Boatner and performed and recorded with the MSFB Studio Orchestra at the famous Sigma Sounds Studio in Philadelphia.

In 1975, Jamie arrived in the San Francisco Bay Area, formed new musical connections and began performing with Milt Jackson, Eddie Henderson, Dave Lieberman, Melba Moore, Allen Smith, Vernon Alley, Pharoah Saunders and others.

Davis has traveled and performed extensively around the world as a headliner and as the lead vocalist for the Count Basie Orchstra. His full deep baritone voice was tapped to narrate 'A Time to Remember,' a docudrama which won the 1997 Black American Independent Filmmakers Award. In 1999 in recognition of his steady accomplishments in the San Francisco area jazz scene, Davis was invited to be a part of the prestigious 'Bay Area's Giants of Jazz' photograph, a event inspired by the acclaimed, historical 'A Great Day in Harlem' photo of 1952.
