The Brooklyn Repertory Ensemble has emerged, since its inception in 2001, as one of the great bands. Its members have extensive experience, along with strong musical personalities. In the spirit of the great bandleaders, director Wade Barnes has afforded each member the opportunity to work on musical ideas. As an innovative drummer, composer, arranger and educator Mr. Barnes understands and promotes professional development. An atmosphere of experimentation facilitates each individual's evolution. As a result, musical and pedagogical conceptions are expanded along with repertoire. Audiences of performances and clinics have found the music completely compelling.
