The Jazz Bridge Third Wednesdays Neighborhood Concerts Series in Media at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 145 West Rose Tree Road in Media PA presents saxophonist Michael Pedicin on Wednesday, May 21st. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., tickets are $10 / $5 for students and are available only at the door. For info: 215-517-8337 or visit Jazz Bridge.

For five decades, saxophonist and composer Michael Pedicin has been breaking new ground as a creative improviser. His father was also a saxophonist and recording artist, but Michael went his own way stylistically after study with Buddy Savitt and Dennis Sandole. One of the first crossover artists as a member of the Gamble and Huff hit-making stable, Pedicin went on to national fame via stints with Maynard Ferguson and Dave Brubeck, as well as his own groups. He’s now making acclaimed recordings, including one of his newest, Why Stop Now…Ubuntu. On this eagerly-anticipated Jazz Bridge performance, Michael Pedicin will be backed by pianist Chris Simonini, bassist Andy Lalasis, and drummer Vic Stevens.
