Multi-Platinum Musician, Arranger, And Producer, Frank Martin To Perform With San Jose-Based Jazz Ensemble "Nineteen”

2014 “Jazz Nights with Nineteen” Concert Series Opens by Featuring Renowned Recording Artist and Keyboardist Performing Original and Traditional Big Band Works

SARATOGA, CA – Today, the south bay-based big band, Nineteen, directed by Eric Bolvin, announced a guest artist concert featuring the talents of multi-platinum recording artist, Frank Martin, on Saturday, February 22nd , at the Theatre on San Pedro Square in San Jose, California, at 8:00 p.m.

Frank Martin has performed, produced and/or recorded with a wide variety of artists in genres ranging from jazz to orchestral to popular music. As a northern California native, his versatile career has found him performing with everyone from Herbie Hancock, Stanley Jordan, and Dizzy Gillespie, to Sting, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Elton John, Lady Gaga, The San Francisco Symphony, The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, and Bruce Springsteen. He owns a San Rafael- based recording studio, and arranger/production credits have included the likes of Al Jarreau, Angela Bofill, Tuck & Patti, Hiram Bullock, Randy Brecker, and Alex Acuna.

Teaching is one of his passions, and Frank serves as a governor for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) and is an adjunct Faculty member in the Jazz Department of the University of California at Berkeley, as well as on staff at the Berkeley Jazz School.

ABOUT JAZZ NIGHTS WITH NINETEEN

Nineteen is a premier ensemble of Bay Area professional musicians, with a 30-year tradition of playing the best in contemporary and traditional big band jazz. Nineteen has brought world-renowned artists to Silicon Valley including Don Menza, Ernie Watts, Dave Liebmann, Jerry Bergonzi, Steve Smith, Dave Weckl, Russell Ferrante, Jeff Lorber; Carl Saunders, Wayne Bergeron, Grant Geismann, Greg Adams, Kim Nalley, Wayne Wallace, and Gordon Goodwin.

Jazz Nights with Nineteen is a guest concert series run in conjunction with the Tabard Theatre Company and features world class jazz artists at a reasonable cost in an intimate setting. This concert will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, at 8:00 p.m., at the Theatre on San Pedro Square, 29 North San Pedro Street, San Jose, CA 95110 (408-979- 0231). Ticket categories for this concert are as follows:

Adult’s $20 advance ($25 at the door)
Senior $10 ($15 at the door)
Student $10 ($12 at the door)
Cabaret seating $30, advance only
