Healdsburg, California (November 6, 2013) - Healdsburg Jazz has launched a wine and music club for wine and music enthusiasts as a way to support the non-profit organization's mission of promoting live jazz and music education. The Healdsburg Jazz & Wine Club features 3 samplers shipped annually, each containing 4 bottles of professionally selected wines and jazz CD. Club members can enjoy fine wines and listen to great music knowing that proceeds from the club go to support Healdsburg Jazz).

The club will be shipping its first sampler to members this December, and will contain two sold out wines released from the winery owners' private cellar, the Alysian 2009 Floodgate Vineyard “Origins" Pinot Noir Russian River Valley and Alysian 2009 Floodgate Vineyard “Clone 95" Chardonnay Russian River Valley, both made by winemaker Gary Farrell; the newly released Stark 2011 Eaglepoint Ranch Syrah Mendocino County by winemaker Christian Stark; the inaugural debut of Wallace Creek 2010 Nimble Hog Red Dry Creek Valley by winemaker Clay Mauritson; and the CD of the superlative For The Love Of Abbey by Marc Cary.

Healdsburg Jazz presents the annual, 10-day Healdsburg Jazz Festival in northern California in the heart of renowned Sonoma County wine country. Wine has always had an integral role in the Festival, with concerts and events during the Festival often held at local wineries. Many of the 10,000+ concert attendees visit the local wineries and tasting rooms during the Festival week.

In an area rich with artisan and boutique wineries, the challenge for many wine drinkers is discovering and learning about the area's limited production wines. In that way wine is very much like jazz, with talented musicians creating beautiful music without much mainstream exposure. “We get asked every year about the wines we serve, what music to buy, which wineries to visit, etc., that we thought launching a wine and music club a natural step for Healdsburg Jazz to do," said Jessica Felix, Artistic Director of Healdsburg Jazz. “The Healdsburg Jazz & Wine Club provides adventurous music and wine lovers a venue for discovering deserving, hand-crafted wines and interesting, brilliant jazz selected by wine industry and music professionals."

The Healdsburg Jazz & Wine Club offers club members the 3 four-bottle-and-CD samplers, club parties with each sampler release that will feature live jazz, wine, and food, and discounts on the unique wine and merchandise sold through the club's website.

Healdsburg Jazz obtained a Type 85 Limited Off-Sale Wine License from the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, which permits the organization to purchase wine at wholesale and resell it retail via the internet or telephone. The Healdsburg Jazz & Wine Club is working with established industry service providers for ecommerce, shipping fulfillment, alcohol sales compliance, and strategic and administrative support. Initially shipping to California, Alaska, District of Columbia, and Missouri, the wine club intends to expand membership to other states depending on customer interest throughout 2014.

Healdsburg Jazz Festival, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, stimulates interest in and promotes awareness and appreciation of jazz by facilitating cross-cultural interaction, providing performance opportunities, and educating young people and adults about the important role of jazz as an indigenous American art form. Founded in 1999, the Festival has flourished into an annual event featuring performances from some of the most renowned musicians world-wide. The Healdsburg Jazz Festival also produces and promotes regular jazz performances in the area year-round, and sponsors and organizes educational programs and concerts for children and adults.
