The Jazz Bridge third Wednesdays, Neighborhood Concerts Series in Media at the Unitarian Universalist Church — 145 West Rose Tree Road in Media — presents singer Andrea Pinkett on Wednesday, November 20th. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., tickets are $10/$5 for students, and are only available at the door. For info: 215-517-8337 or visit Jazz Bridge.

In a region dominated by superior jazz singers, Andrea Pinkett has distinguished herself as among the most talented and most versatile. Pinkett, backed on this performance by pianist Paul Pelusi, bassist Andy Lalasis and drummer Sal Centola, spent a number of years working as a dancer/choreographer, morphed into a top-notch r&b blues stylist via her work with the likes of Dee Dee Sharp and the Sylistics, and ultimately fell under the spell of jazz. She spent seven years at the Showboat in Atlantic City, just recorded a CD with the band Tuesday Night Vision, and continues to tour in her critically acclaimed one-woman tribute to Billie Holiday and other legends, in a show called Ladies of Jazz.

The Jazz Bridge Neighborhood Concerts Series is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Philadelphia Jazz Project, Philadelphia Fund for Jazz Legacy and Innovation of the Philadelphia Foundation, and Painted Bride Arts Center. Jazz Bridge, a 501C public charity that assists area jazz and blues musicians in crisis, is sponsoring this performance in Media as well as 40 other events this season on five area stages in the Greater Delaware Valley.
