International Music At Manly Jazz Festival

The Manly Jazz Festival is a major community and tourism event on the Australian annual jazz calendar and takes place in the heart of Manly along the Manly Corso and the picturesque Manly Beachfront this year on the 5th, 6th and 7th October. Up to 45,000 jazz enthusiasts from Sydney and NSW, interstate and overseas come to Manly to experience this landmark music Festival.

One of the acts performing at the festival for the three days, is Viva the band (trio) with Corinne Andrew. Viva the band comprises Peter Rappolt (guitar and flute) and Marie Rappolt (accordion and bass) with Corinne Andrew (French vocalist) completing the trio.

The talent of the band has seen them successfully perform at over 150 venues in Sydney in the 12 months prior, plus jazz events at Newcastle and Dubbo NSW

Viva the band has extensive international experience having performed across South East Asia including Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippines, Guam and Japan. Promotional tours across Europe included visits to France, Monaco, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and England.

French vocalist Corinne Andrew’s career has seen her perform as principal singer and dancer at many of Europe’s major music cabaret venues including Follies Bergeres, Palais Des Congres, Paradise Latin and in various venues throughout Monaco and Italy. Engagements in French cabaret performances in South East Asia include the prestigious Cordon Bleu, Tokyo and the New Fujiya Hotel, Atami.

Corinne arrived in Australia as principal singer and dancer for “A Journey to Paradise", hosted within Jupiters Hotel and Casino, Gold Coast.

The band enjoys playing their music wherever in the world they may be as they are not constrained by local music environments. Performances by Viva the band with Corinne Andrew is a compilation of their delicate worldly flavours, their repertoire includes: French music (with English translations of French songs) plus: Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Jazz standards and Latin music.

Their recent CD September Morn has racked up more than 6,000 plays at International radio stations
