Aguilar Amplification, maker of high-quality bass amplifiers, speaker cabinets and accessories for bassists is pleased to announce an Artist Series Master Class with Kaveh Rastegar of jazz/improve group Kneebody. Kaveh’s special guest for this clinic will be Kneebody drummer Nate Wood.
Since 2001, Kneebody has created a large audience for their brand of modern Jazz which tests the boundaries of the idiom by incorporating the energy of rock, the sophisticated ensemble playing of a chamber orchestra and the sonic landscapes of electronic music. Kneebody has been gearing up for a flurry of activity this fall as the group will release their new album – and Concord Records debut - The Line, on September 24th.
Looking forward to the clinic, Rategar says, “Among other things, we will be discussing playing as a versatile rhythm section. I also want to talk about how we approach grooves in an improvised setting, the cueing system of Kneebody, our new album “The Line", and how my Aguilar gear is a part of all of that."
In addition to his work in Kneebody, Rastegar is also known internationally for his work with Italian superstar, Ligabue. He was also voted on the short-list of low-end talent for the past three years in the Downbeat magazine readers’ poll. As a writer, Rastegar has collaborated with the likes of Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Kimbra and Meshell Ndegeocello.
The event will be held in the new Aguilar Artists Loft in NYC. Seating for this event is limited! Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased in advance from Aguilar’s web store.
