Alameda, CA: Park St. Trio, one of the Bay Area's emergent jazz ensembles, will release its second album on June 7, 2013.

The new album, “3 Plus 5," is more adventurous and highlights their growth as a band. The songwriting leans more modern while maintaining the strong melodies that makes their music enjoyable. The band has added five guest musicians to 3 Plus 5, including the outstanding Dave Eshelman, who directed the Cal State East Bay jazz program for many years, on trombone. This approach has resulted in many new sounds and textures, and they were able to capture a new energy using instruments like, trombone, clarinet, sax and xylophone. The album was also recorded in analog directly to 1" inch tape. What you hear is literally what the band played - no magic studio fixes.

The band has a newly revamped web page, read the full back story on how the band got started and listen to their first release, Goodnight, Daylight. There is also an album pre-sale on the Park St. Trio's Bandcamp site: parksttrio.bandcamp.com

Park St. Trio will play a special show on the date of the album release at High Street Station, in their home town of Alameda.
