Support The Jost Project - “Can't Find My Way Home" Kickstarter Campaign

We’re a band devoted to jazz and hope to reach a generation of rock fans in a style that will introduce them and pull them into our world. What’s our goal? To create a whole new connection between the music of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Donovan, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beach Boys, and jazz. We love it when fans of such songs as “Walk This Way” hear it in a new way and love what we have done with it.

The band consists of Paul Jost (vocals, harmonica), Tony Miceli (vibraphone) and Kevin MacConnell (acoustic bass). The band was initially formed by Tony and Kevin, with the purpose of performing the rock music they grew up with in a jazz format. Tony said recently “When I heard Paul sing I felt such a strong musical connection that we invited him to be part of the group. Because of Paul’s strong musical influence and arranging talent, both Kevin and I were convinced the group should have Paul’s name. That’s when we became The Jost Project.”

You can find out more about who we are and our backgrounds on our website thejostproject.com or in the FAQ's section

About the CD

Standards from the Great American Songbook and the mainstream jazz repertoire have long held sway in jazz performances. But the so-called “baby boomers” and subsequent generations came of age with rock and roll, the Beatles, hard rock, and other genres which are rarely played by jazz groups. While the harmonies are not necessarily in line with more recognizable jazz progressions, such music provides a great vehicle for improvisation and hopefully will appeal to a wider audience than the pure jazz fans.

On the CD you will find our take on such classics as “Sunshine Superman” (Donovan); “Walk This Way” (Aerosmith); “Kashmir” (Led Zepellin); “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” (Simon and Garfunkel); “Maybe I’m Amazed” (Paul McCartney); “Can’t Find My Way Home” (Steve Winwood - Blind Faith); “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” (Iron Butterfly) and “We Can Work It Out” (Lennon & McCartney).

OK, THE CD IS RECORDED, What Now?

Well the CD has been recorded and we have the master. What we need now is to get The artwork done, have the CD pressed and then get our music out into the market. Our goal is to reach the greatest potential audience possible. To do this we need distribution so the CD will be available everywhere and we need a team of professionals that will work with us to promote it in the media. The great news is we now have this lined up. The only thing missing is the funds to pay for this.

THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP.

This is what we plan to do with the money we raise:

1. Have the cover art designed and the CD pressed.

2.Have a professional video clip done. These days this is more important than ever.

3. Once the CD is done we will be working with professionals to assist us with the marketing and promotion to radio and other media channels.

4. To allow us to develop material for an educational program for college students.

We have included more detail about our plans in the FAQ section.

Also if you would like to receive a copy of the full budget for the project please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to send it to you.

So, thanks for staying with us this far and please take a few minutes to watch our Kickstarter video and review the rewards we are offering in exchange for your support.

Every little bit counts and no amounts will be taken for granted. If you have any questions, suggestions, ideas or any other feedback, please contact us. We would love to hear from you.

Thanks in anticipation for your support.

Paul, Tony and Kevin
