Les McCann: Stuttgart 2004

SOURCE: Published: 2013-01-28

Les McCann is one of the fathers of soul-jazz. The pianist and vocalist pioneered a sound in the late '60s and '70s with saxophonist Eddie Harris that provided a wamer, more soulful alternative to jazz-fusion. Albums like Swiss Movement (1969) and Layers (1973) remain landmarks.
