Cheb i Sabbah Announces Fundraising Campaign to Help Produce New Album: OptiMystiK
Cheb i Sabbah, musical adventurer, global spiritualist and producer extraordinaire is calling out to his fans and supporters to help in the production of his eighth album, OptiMystiK, his most ambitious project to date. The album will combine languages and musical cultures of twelve different countries and is loosely described by Sabbah as “New World DJ Science.”
Known as one of the most creative artists in global electronica, Cheb i Sabbah (whose DJ name translates as “young of the morning”), will be attempting to connect directly with his followers and the global dance community offering a unique opportunity to support and participate in the production of this release.
Over a year ago, Cheb i Sabbah was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach Cancer. After undergoing a major surgery, extensive traditional and holistic – alternative treatment it seems to be under control. As Cheb i states, “I feel fine for now, not cured but still standing and spinning, I never know how the next day will be. As a musician and artist, I’m ready to create again and work on my new album.”
Through a fundraiser campaign on IndieGoGo, the Algerian-born, San Francisco resident DJ, aims to raise the $36,000 needed for the production of his new project, including travel fees, studio time, mastering and mixing, manufacturing costs, and more.
In exchange he will be offering a range of rare and limited items related to the project to the contributors.
