ArtistShare, the pioneer of crowdfunding, celebrates the beginning of its 10th year with two historic releases

ArtistShare is pleased to announce the release of two new live recordings from legendary jazz guitarist Jim Hall. Jim Hall: Live!, Vol. 2-4 features previously unreleased recordings from Jim Hall trio performances at Bourbon Street in Toronto, Canada circa 1975. The recordings provide an additional 3 hours of music from the original Jim Hall Live! (Horizon) release. Featuring Don Thompson on bass and Terry Clarke on drums Jim Hall Live! Vol 2-4 was released as part of Jim's latest Fan-Funded Project. The CD case is a 150 page hardcover book with 3 audio CDs (and a fourth disc containing 24bit/48k audio files) as well as access to video and print interviews with and commentary by Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, saxophonist Chris Potter, bassist Scott Colley, and others. The Jim Hall Quartet: Live at Birdland was recorded live at the historic New York City jazz venue on November 10-11, 2010. Jim Hall is joined by saxophonist Greg Osby, Joey Baron on drums, and Steve Laspina on bass. Live at Birdland is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon and ArtistShare.com.

ArtistShare 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

On October 16th, 2012 ArtistShare entered its 10th year of operations. With crowdfunding all the rage these days we look back with a great sense of accomplishment as being the pioneer of this movement. We will be celebrating with special events and some fun surprises throughout the year.

Founded in 2001 by guitarist and producer Brian Camelio, ArtistShare was the first fan-funded internet platform. ArtistShare's mission is to connect artists with fans in order to support the creation of new artistic works. ArtistShare's accolades thus far include 5 Grammy awards and 15 Grammy nominations. The ArtistShare roster includes some of today's most prestigious artists including Pulitzer prize and Oscar nominated writers, Guggenheim fellowship recipients, Grammy winners, and NEA Jazz Masters.
