Jazz Vocalist Alma Micic June 30 at Night and Day

SOURCE: Published: 2006-06-28
On Friday evening, June 30, extraordinary jazz vocalist Alma Micic will present a show at Night and Day jazz club.

All About Jazz writer Mike Brannon described Alma Micic's singing as “clear, confident, soulful, vulnerable, rhythmically savvy, with the most sensual vibrato you're likely to hear."

At sixteen, Alma Micic was already a lead vocalist with the Belgrade Radio Big Band, performing at jazz festivals in Europe. After graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2000, Alma Micic relocated to New York City, making her mark on the US jazz scene.

She will be joined by pianist Brandon McCune, who has worked with many major jazz artists including Abbey Lincoln, Terence Blanchard, Nneena Freelon, Betty Carter, and Wynton Marsalis.

There will be only one show, starting at 7 P.M, with a cover charge of $5.

Night and Day is located at 230 5th Avenue (and President Street) in Brooklyn. Reservations can be made by calling (718) 399-2162.
