Win A Chance To Talk With Your Favorite Songlines Artist

Specializing in cutting-edge jazz (with new music/world music influences) from New York's downtown scene and other centers of creative music, Songlines' eclectic roster includes artists such as drummer Sean Noonan, guitarist/oudist Gordon Grdina,saxophonist Michael Blake, pianist Benoit Delbecq and clarinetist Francois Houle.

For the next ten days, fans of the label are invited to visit its Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/SonglinesRecordings)and, once they've “Liked" the label, to post their opinions about which of the label artists is their favorite and why.

The contest deadline is November 9.

One winner will be selected from all the original posts for the Grand Prize of a chat, either by phone or Skype, with his or her favorite artist, as well any CD of his or her choosing from Songlines' vast catalog.

Five Runners Up will also be chosen, each receiving a CD of his or her choice.

Songlines, which is currently celebrating its twentieth anniversary, is running the contest as a way of engaging its fans via social media and allowing them to connect more directly with the artists on the label. In addition,Songlines is celebrating its “platinum" anniversary at Shapeshifter Lab in Brooklyn. In June, the label hosted a Guitar/Oud night featuring Ben Monder, Brad Shepik and Gordon Grdina; in November and December Andy Milne, Benoit Delbecq and Francois Houle will perform.
